Reference sensors for road noise control optimal positions from operational measurement

(Completed)

SME project (Faurecia Creo): Nicolas Pignier
Started: 2018 (completed)

This project investigates new methods to define reference sensors positions for the control of road noise in cars, with the objective of achieving high noise cancelling performance with a minimum-scaled system, which is weight and cost efficient. The definition of a robust, fast and practical method to identify minimum number and positions of accelerometers required to achieve a target noise cancelling performance. This involves the development of a specific transfer path analysis method to process operational measurements and identify most significant paths, from a large set of potentially strongly correlated inputs. The method should provide quantitative data on the most significant inputs and associated transfer paths enabling quick design decisions.
